My pal Jenny Barrett with her neighbour Gaynor Williams had the simple but essential idea to collect warm clothing for the homeless this winter.
Jenny asked me for some help with contacting the media and so I got involved by writing a press release, suggesting how and who they could talk contact in the press and producing their website and helping promote the project on social media. In just three weeks their Facebook page had 277 likes and the campaign was trending on Twitter.
They were thrilled to get coverage on Meridian TV, The Argus and the BBC and other local media outlets. They were even more thrilled to receive hundreds of coats which have been delivered to homeless people in Brighton and Hove.
Well done to Jenny and Gaynor and everyone else involved including Albion in the Community. We did great!
